Startig PXE Config Service causes PXE Server Service to fail and vice versa

This issue has been solved. See solution.

This started over the 1/10/2009 - 1/11/2009 weekend. It's been relatively stable for the beter part of 11 months till this started.



You start the service 'Altiris PXE Config Helper'. Normally it will start 'Altiris PXE Server' for you and manage the update of it. Now it fails to start 'Altiris PXE Server' and if I start 'Altiris PXE Server' myself, then 'Altiris PXE Config Helper' stops.



I turned on DEBUG mode for the log file and this is what I got back:

Try restarting PXE Manager service.

Already tried that several times and and with several combinations.

I followed the article, added a few steps that allowed me to carry over my custom menu options and boot files. Note to anyone else you goes through this, don't delete the PXE folder, rename it. that way you have it for reference. Also, the pxemanager.ini file is very important if you don't want to recreate all your boot menu options and boot files.
