    Hi,

This is something I haven't heard before.

    What OS do you use?

I'm running linux fedora. I was wondering if this error occured before in windows. (apperently not)

It looks like trouble retrieving a host name. If we're able to solve that, than were able to run a ghostcast server in linux. That would be great!

wow, never thought of doing this before. out of curiosity i had a go myself with ubuntu feisty, and i managed to get past the "accept clients" stage, and going through the process on the client computer i had to specify the ip address but it shows up successfully in the server
however, clicking on "send" doesn't work :(
would be pretty neat if it could work though!

    Hi,

Yes, it would be great - but this is not a supported scenario though :-)

I just had a chat with Nigel too (since this is in his area), and probably this is related to the emulator you use. However, Manggon's post indicates that he managed to go further and that behavior is similar to the firewall related issues in Windows.

If I come across any other idea, I will let you know.

I am using wine as windows API. What did you use manggon? (curious how you got a step further) Then we have to find out what went wrong when you press "send"
Perhaps you could use the logging feature in ghostcast. (file - options - Log level All)
    and post the output? (ghostlog.txt)

(For Krish) i know it is out of the support scope. I'm glad you are giving respons anyhow. Let's keep the topic alive, perhaps we'll figure out how to run a ghostcast server on a windows API under linux. It would be nice to have a working solution so other people can use it in the future. Not supported but possible!
