I am trying to configure a dectection rule to see if the "Software Portal.lnk" is on the users desktop. If it isn't the managed delivery job will run and add it. I was trying to use the Base folder "*Desktop" option in my Static File Expression but it never dectects the shortcut. Any ideas on how to correctly set this up?

What if you try for .URL?  .LNK is for Shortcuts; Internet Shortcuts are .URL.  Wouldn't Software Portal be an Internet Shortcut?

No. It actually links to "SWRAgentUtils.exe /ShowSoftwarePortal"

I tested this successfully with SMC.URL and SymantecAntivirus.lnk.  Both show as Detected.  However, when I try "Symantec Antivirus.lnk", it fails.  "SymantecAntivirus.lnk" also fails.

I would submit this issue to Symantec support, as this appears to be a bug.  I only tested the *Desktop selection with .URL and .LNK files on my desktop.  .URL and .LNK behave identically; anything with quotes fails; anything with a space fails.

Have you tried using %20 for spaces?  I didn't consider that.  I mean, it's not the URL itself, but it does have the .url extension.  Maybe?
