  • 1.  Stealing and republishing Symantec data?

    Posted Apr 03, 2012 12:12 AM

If I search for my email address, these days a lot of results showing my PGP key appears on other servers like

    http://pgp.rediris.es

    pgp.circl.lu

    http://www.rnp.br/keyserver/

    http://pgp.net.nz:11371/pks/

    http://keys.kfwebs.net:11371/pks

Is this content stolen and republished from Symantec's key servers?

If it is, does Symantec plan to send them takedown notices?

I didn't sign up for having my pgp key republished and publicly indexed in Google when submitting my key. I just had to do it because the software wanted it or lead me to do it.

I just went through a dozen pages of Google search results for my personal email address and did not see any keyserver result.  How are you doing your searching?

The Global Directory does not synch keys with other keyservers.

I could not access any of the links you shared.

PGP Global Keyserver has gottcha protection, so no script or program can access database massively, what means that your email address wont be stored in any spam mail distribution.
