  • 1.  Still having MAJOR issues when attempting to deploy the cleint to previous SAV clients.

Hello again, I am STILL having an issue of deploying the clients. I have used the previous package, and 2 new ones, one that is the regular package for the site with the default settings and the other which will remove all previous logs and settings. I go to run the Migration wizard, and it finds the PC's, it deploys, gets to 100% and says it has completed. I have given this MUCH more time than the heartbeat which I have set to 3 minutes and I still do not see them in my management console. I have had this issue from the beginning. I would try to install, it would not work, and I would do it again. I have the latest one from Fileconnect and I have a very low success rate of installing this the first time and it installs as it should.  I would say, I have installed this on 20 machines already and ONLY 4 were installed as they should have been. My objective is to have this installed and communicate with the server WITHOUT visiting the client and without having to re run the install or create another package. Please help, this has been the biggest issue I have had so far during deployment.

    Thank you.

When the SEPM/Deployment wizard says 100% it does not mean that the client is 100% installed.

It means that 100% of the install files have been copied and that the install was started.

If the install fails for some reason it will not tell the SEPM.

I realize that this wont fix the installs that are failing, unless you have been rebooting the machines after the 100% is reached.

I understand that, I know that it needs to take time to finish the install and report to the server, but it still did not install the program. I even ran it a 2nd time about 40 minutes ago and I still do NOT see it populating in the SEPM server.

The install (unless you changed the install settings) is logged.

Try looking in the SEP_INST.log to find out what caused the install to fail. I generally open it in notepad and search for "value 3".

Generally speaking if the push install fails once it will fail every time it is pushed to that computer until something has changed.

This is not an individual thing though. This has happened many times. I will check the logs the next time this occurs.

OK, the situation now is, I see her in the SEPM console, and I see it showing as if it is offline, when I look at her machine, the shield is there with the green indicator light on showing that she is in fact connected accordingly. Why????

Check the System and Application event logs on the troubleome client PCs for any error or warning entries mentioning the SEP istall. I only had a few issues with deployed clients not showing up in SEP manager and they were because the client PC needed to be restarted after the install.

Every time I install, I get it where the client is installed, and it DOES NOT connect to the SEPM server. The second time I install from a package, it will take it (most of the time) but NEVER the initial time. I have tried to do this by incorporating the Sylink.xml and it still does NOT make a difference. I really need help with this, this is the biggest issue I have run into thus far.!!!
