In upgrading the Endpoint Protection Management console from 12.0 to 12.1, one of the steps is to stop the Endpoint Protection Manager service and this is described in the HOWTO81206 as being listed in services as "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager."  This service is not found on my server.  The Symantec services which are listed are:

Symantec Embedded Database;
Symantec Endpoint Protection;
Symantec Event Manager;
Symantec Management Client;
Symantec Network Access Control;
Symantec Protection Center;
Symantec Protection Center Webserver;
Symantec Settings Manager;

Can anyone tell me which of these services equates to "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager"?

Hi,

You are using Small Business Edition 12.0.

In SBE 12.0 Symantec Protection Centre service equates to "Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager".

If you stop the SPC - Symantec Protection Center Service - it will be the one. SEPM Service relates to SEP Enterprise Edition.

Hello,

I agree. Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager Console in Symantec Endpoint Protection SBE 12.0 is called as Symantec Protection Center.

If you are planning to upgrade or migrate to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2, please take a look at the latest how-to article created by our very own SEP content council team.

Best practices for upgrading to Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2
