Storage Capacity Backup

Created: 25 Jul 2012 | 6 comments

Hello, I have a question, I know the limit and in GB, allowed to back the Backup.exec Security and how I can do to make to have no storage limits and can be backed satisfactorily.

If anyone can help me with this issue, thank you very much.

Your question is not clear enough, what storage capacity you are refering?

I mean I do not want a limit on GB, at the time of copying, such that only let me back up to 20 GB and I want to make it to 100 GB, if I do I understand?

Mmm...then something is wrong. Are your backups FULL? If so, check the tapes for Hard Write Errors. If you're getting these, then the tapes are most likely faulty.

BE doesn't place any limits on the amount of data you can backup at all.

Thanks, I'm not making a copy on a disk to tape, but on the harddrive of my server. Clear to me what the limit.

Are you talking about the max B2D file size?

OK, so there are 3 things here and you're not being clear on this:

1. If this is your Backup-to-disk size and it is set to 20GB, then edit this. Go to the B2D folder under Devices, right-click it and choose properties. From there you can set the size of the B2D. If it is 20GB and you want it bigger, change the max size of the file created.

2. If this is a Windows issue, then it is a quota problem...and you need to change the quota on the folder where you are running your B2D backups too. Change it within Windows, or change the location of the B2D folder to a volume without a quota that will allow you to use the maximum amount of space.

3. Check the amount of disk space available on the drive that hosts the B2D. It must have enough disk space to allow you to run backups.

Thanks!
