  • 1.  Streaming Server Status [Down], Streaming Portal [UP]

    Hi Folks,

    I installed streaming server from trialware on newly setup 2008 server. I uploaded a package and assign it to a user. After some time in Component Status, I see the status for:

    STE on xxx (Database: [UP] , Streamlet Engine: [Up])

    Default Server Group >> FE on xxx (Application Portal: [Up], Streaming Server: [Down])

    I checked the logs for FE on xxx(Streaming server log) for down status, below is the log

    2012-10-09 00:27:41 WARN [4656] ServerInitializing,ServerData::moveLocalToFront#378| Using local DA 192.168.1.71
    2012-10-09 00:27:41 ERROR [4656] LicenseControl,LicenseAutomatic::licenseExpired#701| current: 2012-10-09 00:27:41, expires: 2012-09-29 11:30:01
    2012-10-09 00:27:41 ERROR [4656] LicenseControl,License::canStartServer#742| License has expired,server cannot start
    2012-10-09 00:27:41 ERROR [4656] ServerInitializing,Server::initializeServer#158| Failed to acquire license for server, error# 71
    2012-10-09 00:27:41 ERROR [4656] ServerInitializing,startServer#63| Failed to initialize service, stopping ASWEStreamingServer

    Which say license expired but I intalled this 15 days back. Can you plz tell me whats wrong there ?

    One more thing when I goto View License tab, there Maximum Users, and Maximum Sessions are 0, 0 respectively for (FE on xxx) evalution license, does this mean we cant use this evaluation license for streaming to agent for trial as there will be at least one user to stream but in view license we see max users 0 ..?

    If I need new lincese for evaluation please provide me same for one user and one session.

    smiley

    Hello Arvind,

    Could you please let us know the build version of SWS you have installed? You can find this from the Streaming Console->About.

    I will test and find out if the eval license issued and shipped with the build is having issues.

    Also could you please attach a screenshot of the View License page from console?

    Regarding your question 2, ideally if you try to stream now (with the license being expired) you should see an error, meaning you can't stream anymore.

    Regards,

    Hello Arvind,

    PFA the new updated eval license.

    Download the updated license, extract it and follow the below steps to upload it.

    1. Launch Streaming Console.

    2. Click on View License.

    3. Select the Server Group and front end server location to which the license has to be uploaded.

    4. Click on the Browse button to navigate to the location where the license file is being copied.

    5. Click on upload. You will see an information pop-up stating if you want to overwrite existing ,licenses. Say Yes and once upload completes go to Component Status and restart the front-end server.

    Lets us know if further help is needed.

    Regards,

    Balachandar.M
