Subject Alternative Names in SSL certificate after purchasing

This issue has been solved. See solution.

Hi Team,

We got a SSL for our website "www.mydomain.com". After installing the certificate with Apache, we found that the browsers are reporting that the certificate is only valid for "www.mydomain.com" and not to "mydomain.com". We can't redirect non www to www in this site. While checking the old certificate, it was having "Subject Alternative Names:" as both "www.mydomain.com" and "mydomain.com". In new certificate, only www part is preasant.

Can the "Subject Alternative Names:" can be edited in new certificate?

Regards,

S.Senthilvel.

Hey,

You can add new hostnames in the Subject Alternate Names field.

You need to create a new Certificate Signing Request and submit it to CA  (I assume Symantrec in this case).

Thanks and Regards,
