    Hey all,

We recently deployed the SEP MR4. Ever since, at random times, clients are doing self restarts. I tried to check out the logs for any clues and it seems to be caused by a local server running under SYSTEM authority. All I can think of is SEP. any ideas what can cause SEP to reboot computers?

    Thanks.

    Hi,

Does the Application/system event log file points to SEP?

You may need to look deeper into this, except if the administrator is issuing the clients to restart  from SEPm console :-).

    Pete!

    Try to start with this:

    1. Properties of My computer label on desktop

    2. Advanced tab

    3. Startup and Recovery settings

4 Checkbox "Automatically restart" must be turned off.

If that checkbox is on turn it off. Then, instead of rebooting, computer should show you some BSOD. If you lucky you will can detect what is the cause of problem.

And you can always try to install only Antivirus component of SEP on troubled PC, if you dont already did that.
