Hi,

Designing a project on BE 2010 R3.

The setup is Lotus Domino 8.5.1 on Windows 2008 STD. SP1 (32bit).

As per the latest compatibility docs.(Backup Exec 2010 R3), lotus 8.5.x is not support on any 32 bit server.

"....Lotus 8.5.X 32 and 64 bit is supported on 64bit servers......."

Which means that BE 2010 R3 does not support the current setup.

Any idea.

Any trick to make it happen.

Thanks.

There may be or may not be

There may be or may not be tricks to make Lotus 8.5.x work on a 32 bit server.

Its always recommended to stick with the supported configuration. Somehow you may configure

backups of Lotus 8.5 on a 32bit server but its not certain how long it will work and in case you come

across any issue Symantec will just provide you software compatibility list then you will be left on

your own.

Lotus 8.5.X 32 and 64 bit is

Lotus 8.5.X 32 and 64 bit is supported on 64bit servers

This does not imply that you cannot run Lotus 8.5.X 32-bit on a 32-bit server.  For some applications, BE does not support running the 32-bit version of the application on a 64-bit machine.

I am running Domino 8.5.2 on a 32-bit Server 2003 machine.  If you can load Lotus 8.5.1  on a Server 2008 32-bit machine, it should be supported.

Lotus backup ....

Hi,

I have checked with the IBM for their own backup product ....

but there also I haven't found any 32bit support...

check this below link:-

http://www.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21426974

So, what I can understand that there must be any catch, for lotus domino 8.5.1 on 32 bit server.

Amol: It's OK ....don't feel sorry.....I should have elaborated the issue more clearly...

Thanks.

The link that you have

The link that you have provided is for Domino 5.5.3, not 8.5.1.

I have already told you that I am running Domino 8.5.2 on a 32-bit Server 2003 machine and I am backing it up with BE 2010 R3, so what is the catch?  Are you still saying that BE is unable to back up Domino 8.5.X on a 32-bit machine?
