    Hi,

Sorry if it stupid question but I found the answer regarding supported DB for discovery, can I assume all are also supported for fingerprinting data (EDM or IDM) ?

If not, (as I noticed there was no answer for similiar question regarding Sharepoint ) what are the supported sources for IDM ?

    Thanks

EDM and IDM only deal with documents, not databases. If you have a database with information you want, you'll have to export it to an excel spreadsheet, csv, or tab/space delimited file to be scanned with EDM.

IDM is for matching unstructured data so you wouldn't have those in a database, but rather in text files like Microsoft Word and PowerPoint, PDF files, design plans, source code, CAD/CAM images, financial
reports, mergers and acquisition documents, and many others.

    Hope that clarifies

    Thanks for the clarification xlloyd

However some documents are saved on file servers which I understand I can index , but some of my documents can be saved on Sharepoint, Domino, Livelink or Documentum which I read Symantec DLP supports on Discovery. Those documents are usually stored in those systems on databases so if I still want to index them , in my case specifically on Domino , can I still access those systems or do I need to export my data for it to be indexed ? I couldn't find anything on Symantec DLP 11 documentation

Oooooooh...I misinterpreted the question. As far as I can see, you'll need to export them. I've never tried that before come to think of it. Maybe someone else will be able to give some more insight though.

Previous post is correct.  The documents will need to be exported from Domino before they can be indexed by DLP.  There's no "connector" for document repositories for indexing.  You either have to upload an archive (zip) of all of the documents you want to index, or point to a network file share.
