SVS and Licensing
Updated: 29 Jul 2010 | 3 comments
Hi All
I have just started investigating the possible use of SVS at my company, I have a question that may have already been answered so sorry if they are repeats.
First question is about licensing, I saw a few comments regarding certain applications that are not covered under SVS. Can anyone tell me what major apps do not support SVS.
Thanks

it's more the other way
it's more the other way around, there are apps that you cannot virtualize correctly, so it's not a licensing issue unless a company's EULA says you cannot virtualize their apps because.
Visual Studio is one, it will work on the machine it was captured on but not a different machine.
There are also things we don't support being captured but might work like databases. Nor do we support system components in a layer.

A place for a supported list ?
In the past, we were having a wiki place, where we can find the list of supported applications/versions, and more, some tricks to proceed... Now we need to search in Connect for each application, and from time to time, accidently get valuable information... :-(
Is there any way to get this list or to build one ?
Best regards.

Wiki
The wiki was a great and helpful place where find many information in one container. It's correct that now we have to looking for in many posts for each application. But this place was dismissed and no more published. ( See also my question already submitted in the post " Where is Wiki.altiris.com ? " )
Regards,
Paolo
