If you set the layer to activate on system startup then restart things will work but the changes will go to the read/write sublayer and not the read only sublayer so if you ever reset the program may not work.

Thank you for the respond regarding to restart, I understand that it will apply to software that needs to restart to complete installation....

In my case, I selected Global capture, I started the installation and this required restart half way before this is completed, in other words the application continue process after restart before this is completed or finished.. but at this time the "stop caputure" has been closed...I am wondering if there is a work around for that..

    Thank

Somewhere in my studies of SVS I read that the only reason a program needs a restart is to start some services or to activate a run/runonce registry key (possibly to free up a file in use).  If you can find out which services need to be started that were created from the program or if it adds any run/runonce registry keys, you can just start the services and/or run whatever program the registry wants you run.  Instead of restarting try checking which services the program installs and see if it adds anything to the run and runonce registry keys.  That might allow you to bypas the reboot.  And FYI, deactivating and reactivating an SVS layer is equivalant to a reboot according to the software.
