customer needs to scan specific folder and have file inventory within the specific folder. We setup inventory policy and when this policy is triggered on the client it scans more folders then needed and it takes too much time. Is it wanted bahaviour or shal we setup policy by different way? Setting and resource monitor is in attachment. Can you please check it?
You will probably be better off using a custom inventory scan that interrigates WMI for that file.
Yes, the same action was adviced from Symantec, Inventory works as designed.
This is the latest info I got from Symantec:
Major inventory agent rework is planned for the next major release now. In the mean time the customer can work around the issue via custom inventory or bear with the extra ARP inventory collections.
I was going to open a case with Symantec about the same so it will save me some time. It behaves in a same stupid way in SMP 7.1 and 7.5.
