is it possible to switch all clients to computer mode from user mode? I can do it one by one (which will take ages). If I select multiple clients the switch to computer mode option is grayed out

Hi,You can accomplish it

Hi,

You can accomplish it with the help of Move client utility.

Symantec provides an unsupported tool which can accomplish this task on a per-group basis in RU6 and later known as the MoveClient Utility. It is highly recommended that customers review the included instructions (provided in PDF and Microsoft Word format) before utilizing this tool

How to use the MoveClient Utility to switch multiple machines between computer and user mode.

I hope it will help you !!!

Thanks and Regards,

Message - No clients found that need to be switched

We do an AD sync to pull in our 6,000 + clients.  Some clients are showing up as online in our computers OU and others in our users OU.  I ran the utility and specified the users OU but after running the utility in the log it stated that there were no clients found that needed to be switched.  I've let this sit for a few days not thinking that maybe changes would show up in the SEPM console but nothing has changed.  All our install packages are set for computer mode.  It is really making it difficult to manage or clients to verify they are working correctly.  Any additional suggestions?

Solution Provided with SEP

Solution

Provided with SEP RU6 and later is the MoveClient tool. It is available on the installation DVD under \Tools\NoSupport\MoveClient_Utility.

NOTE: The MoveClients utility is unsupported. Refer to MoveClients.pdf for full documentation.

MoveClients will read in a text data file, connect to the database and can accomplish the following tasks:

- Move clients to a new group based on hostname, username, IP address or Operating System.

- Bulk Switch clients from User Mode to Computer Mode or vice-versa.
