Switching from Managed to Unmanaged

I have a question about SEP and I hope this hasn't been beaten to death but here goes:

I need to be able to change managed clients to unmanaged clients gracefully. People will bring their computers to our campus and while they are here, I'd like to centrally manage them, but when they leave, they need to get back to that unmanaged state.

All my google searching has told me is that it's trivial to go to managed mode but to go back you have to uninstall and reinstall the app (and delete a few registry keys). However, that info seemed to be for older SAV clients. I'm hoping SEP has a more robust way of dealing with this. Even if it's deleting a few files and registry keys, as long as it's something I can roll into an install-shield app, I'm happy.

Use the SylinkDrop.exe utility on the SEP CD #2 and "drop" the SyLink.xml file from SEP CD #1 (in the SEP folder) to switch from managed to unmanaged.
