This issue has been solved. See solution.
I captured Google Chrome on Windows 7 using Symantec Workspace Virtualization SP1 (6.1.5066) and was able to successfuly complete the capture, but when I disable the layer the shortcut still shows up.
Screen cap of layer when enabled:
Screencap when the layer is disabled. Note the "ghost" shortcut that remains. Note that the Start->All Programs->Google Chrome folder also disappears when I disable the layer
Anyone have any ideas on how to have the desktop icon also disappear when the layer is disabled? Thanks!

Office 2007 will leak several hundered reg keys to the base if you capture it on Vista or Win7.
Capturing on XP and exporting it to Win7 should work.
