Good day,

I run netbackup 6.5.1 on windows 2003 ent. Server.

I need to configure netbackup to backup Sybase server on an AIX partition.

I need the Sybase backup and restore scripts because the installation does not give me this.

thank you.

Per the Admin Guide

example scripts are supposed to be located in <install_path>/netbackup/ext/db_ext/sybase/scripts.

They are also in the Admin Guide(s) with info on config & modification.
Sybase System Administrator's Guide for Windows
Sybase System Administrator's Guide for UNIX

Can't understand why.

Windows client generally installs 'everything' & usage is only "switched-on" with input of correct license.

We don't use any of the database agents, but just checked on my PC (which has NB client + Admin Console installed) & within C:\Program Files\VERITAS\NetBackup\DbExt\Sybase\Samples are all the scripts referenced in the Admin Guide (note the folder is actually Samples & not scripts as per the Admin Guide). As a further note, the dbext folder also contains DB2, MsSql, Oracle and SAP as well as Sybase.

May be it would be worth installing/upgrading the client....

SORRY, just re-read your initial post & forgot you said AIX - the above still holds true, BUT for *nix platforms the d/b agents are installed separately. You will need to install the Sybase agent using the correct media kit (UNIX Options) - this contains all the database agents, amongst other things.

***EDIT***
As Rajeev states (posted whilst I was busy changing my mind!!)
