A sylink.xml replacement on a

A sylink.xml replacement on a client will make the client communicate with the management server. You need to replace this file on every computer that needs to be connected to SEPM.

As far as GUP is concerned, you need to specify in the management console's policies, which computer will be acting as a GUP. That computer can provide virus definitions to the computers in the same group.

If you want to see all the clients in a group, and if those clients are not in the management server, then you can replace the sylink.xml file on all of them. Once they all show up in SEPM, you can make one of those computer a GUP.

Let me know if you have more questions.

Cheers,
Aniket

Not able to understand your

Not able to understand your question could you explain in breif.

Sylink is a file while contains communication settings.
What do you want to find out ? whether clients are taking updates from GUP or something else.

As Vikram has already

As Vikram has already mentioned that sylink carries the communication setting from the SEPM. It is the file that is used for communication between SEPM and SEP Client
Running Sylink will not give you the list of Client taking update or asking the update  from the GUP, neither on the client. You can’t run a sylink. it is a .xml file that  can be replaced id a client is not communicating with the SEPM
If you open the sylink you can see what it has.
It has the name /ip address of the machine where the SEPM is installed
The port used for communication between SEPM and clent
The heartbeat interval set for Communication.
