for sep 12.1 you dont need sylink replacer, under home tab tasks, client deployment, there is option to update commmunication settings, you can use that.

For SEP 11.x clients to report, you would need SylinkReplacer for SEP 11.
However, for SEP 12.1 RU2, you would need to use the Internal feature, check this Article:

what is the client version you want ti run sylink replacer
If you have SEPM RU2 you can push the client communications Settings using the push wizard. On earlier SEPM use simply the Sylink Replacer - on how many systems btw. do you want to replace the sylink?
