Sylink Replacer Problem

I'm moving over 5000 clients from one SEPM to a new SEPM and tested the SylinkReplacer utility. My first test run with the utility left some clients with the smc service in a stopped state thus not reporting in with the SEPM. After starting the server via Hyena tool remotely ... the clients reported and all looks well. I was wondering if there is a known issue with the SylinkReplacer that fails to restart the smc service after replacing the sylink.xml. Please advise. Thank you.

SMC service

As rightly suggested there is a possibility of environmental variables due to which the smc service did not start the way it should on some of the client machines. There are no known issue of such type

 I haven't bothered using

I haven't bothered using that tool. I created a batch file that replaces the sylink.xml and then a GPO that I attached all of our computers to that runs the batch file as soon as the computer gets on the network.
