Hi,

I couldn't find sylink replacer for Symantec Endpoint Protection 12. Do anyone have an idea for this issue? If there is a replacer for SEP 12 can anyone send me it's link?

ldimple is correct that Sylink Replacer is only available via Support. However, as far as I know, there is unfortunately as yet no Sylink Replacer yet for 12.1.

There is No SylinkReplacer Utility for SEP Version 12.1

However, We are working on such Utility for SEP version 12.1

You can try replacing sylink by using sylink drop or by creating a script

SEP 12.1 client installs have SylinkDrop.exe already in the install directory.  <default_path>\Symantec Endpoint Protection\<version>\Bin\ is the location you will find it.  Run it, click on Help and you will find the CLI for it.

Follow the example in the Help popup and you could create some type of a script to accomplish whatever your need may be for replacing the sylink file.

Thank you all for your replies. We have about 400 clients in here and i think that SylinkDrop will not be useful for this situation. It will be better to write a script or waiting for Symantec to release SylinkReplacer.

Using the link posted before:

Method 3

If you would still like to manually replace the sylink.xml, you will need to disable tamper protection.  You can do this on the client by going to Change Settings > Click Configure Settings under Client Management > Tamper Protection (Tab) > Then uncheck the box that says Protect Symantec security software from being tampered with or shut down.

Once tamper protection is disabled:

1. Stop the SMC service by going to Start > Run > type in > smc -stop.
2. Once the service is stopped copy the sylink.xml file from the new SEPM and on the client side put that sylink.xml file under

      "\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\<current_install_build_number>\Data\Config"

3. Replace the existing file and restart the SMC service with Start > Run > smc -start

The script would be something like:

• "c:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Smc.exe" -stop
• ren "c:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Sylink.xml" "c:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Sylink.bkp"
• Copy [source]sylink.xml "c:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\"
• "c:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\Smc.exe" -start
