Hi!

You can use the remote sylink tool with the push deployment wizard to deploy the correct sylink.xml. You can import a list of computers or ip addresses and after specifying an account with privileges, the sylink will be replaced in all the machines remotely.

The company I work for is a Novell Shop. I setup a ZFD package to use the SylinkDrop.exe from a remote path. I then setup some parameters to keep the execution silent with no user input. Here is what I used:

Path to File:

     \\*SylinkDrop.exe

Parameters:

    -silent -p [Password] \\*Sylink.xml

*[Password] if you have password enabled policy to unload the service

* \\* is the location of the Sylink.xml. (The Sylink.xml housed the SEPM you want your clients to point to).

Hope this helps....

I used SMS2003 to do it then the SEPM backup failed me and had to reinstalled SEPM from scratch.

But you could use a cmd line in the login script also..

good luck

We also have the "SylinkReplacer" utility which allows you to remotely deploy sylink.xml (communication) files to your clients.

You will have to contact Symantec Technical Support to acquire it though.

Hope that helps!
