The following conditions need to be met to discover the clients:

1) You have to be logged in as a member of the "Domain admins"

2) The remote client should have the "Remote Registry" service turned on to discover clients.

3) To discover clients you should have atleast read privelge on                                                   HKLM\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Services\SmcService

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"
