Symantec 10.1.6.6000 32 bit deploy to Windows 7 64 bit client

This issue has been solved. See solution.
We have Symantec Corporate Edition 10.1.6.6000 deployed on the client workstations in our office. We recently upgraded one of these workstations to Windows 7 Ultimate 64 bit and would like to reinstall the antivirus software. Is this version of Symantec compatible with Windows 7 64 bit? Can we run it in compatibility mode (Windows 7 website advises against running AV in compatibility mode)?

CTCIT,
A great resource to verify compatibility is available at the Microsoft Windows 7 Compatibility Center located at the following link: http://bit.ly/1gW6Ns
