  • 1.  symantec 11.x version installation problem

    i am using xp(os) in server and i need to install symantec version 11.x in client, where client work on vista(os).

    when i am installing symantec 11.x in my client i am can't able to install and i have checked the requirement and also disabled the uac in client but the symantec is not running( means  when i am giving double click to symantec setup and run, no wizard or no operation of installation get performed).

     

    i need a solution immediate,i am a fresher to this job so, please tell information in detail

    can you pass on the sep_inst.log?

    Just guessing here. While waiting for the SEP_INST.LOG that is found in Windows\Temp

    There may be 2 different packages available on your side, 1 for 32-bit and the other for 64-bit. Make sure you are using the correct version.

    Can you please scan system on Power erser tool it may be virus issue.

    Hi,

    It would be great if you could provide more information.

    What's the SEP version ? 

    Check till date releases.

    SEP client can be installed only if trying to install SEP RU5 or later version on Windows Vista OS.

    Are you using SEPM (Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager) ? Package is exported from SEPM ?

    If yes, export new package and try.

    If you are using downloaded setup file or CD's, try to run with full admin privilege i.e right click on setup and run as administrator.
