How to update Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 ru2 manually by copying update file from a updated endpoint ?
 

i copyd files here C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\12.1.2015.2015.105\Data\Definitions\VirusDefs
here also C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection\CurrentVersion\Data\Definitions\VirusDefs

The Intelligent Updater is an executable file that can be used to update virus definitions for the Symantec Endpoint Protection client. To update the definitions, run either the Daily Certified or Rapid Release Intelligent Updater on the local computer.

You can download the definition from above link (.exe - for Client and .jdb for server).

Run the exe file if it in client and for the server you can paste in to the path which mention below link

You can update the client as well using the .jdb file  - just follow the instructions:

...copying manualy definitions to \Definitions\VirusDefs is not recommended and will not work.

5000 pc's in my manger
before i installed 11.x so i can copy and update
but downloading update daily not possible

Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1.2 (RU2) can migrate installations of the following legacy Symantec products:

Check for may be virus defination are corrupt in sepm

are you want update sepm console or sep client ?

 

Hello have you SEP Server, if yes then paste the .jdb file in sep server it will update all your client which are in your network, no manually effort for all clients.

Why is that you want to Manually update the SEPM?

Is the SEPM server not connected to internet?

Why you want to update manually ?

Client which you need to upgrade are manage by Symantec Server or not?

Your manager server is updated or not, because if it upgraded and client are manage by that server then it auto upgrade the client as policy.

Hi Mahesh,

To save the timing from manual efforts you can upgrade the SEPM with latest defintion.SEPM server will auto update the defintion on that clients which are communicate with Server.

Intelligent updater can update only antivirus & antispyware definitions. It can't update PTP & NTP definitions.

becuse sometime new clients add to my console from any branch so thats not contain latest update
i'm doing that online from IT department...
there is no internet in branch
so i need to update a client from a updated endpoint
