Symantec AntiVirus 10.2.0.276 Auto-Protect failed to load
Updated: 21 May 2010 | 6 comments
I am running Windows Vista Ultimate 32-Bit. Just recently I had a security pop-up saying my antivirus was not enabled. In my task bar I have the symantec shield but it has a red circle and line through it. When I right click on that shield and then click on enable auto-protect it does not enable. It puts an entry into the history saying "Symantec AntiVirus Auto-Protect failed to load" and then does nothing else. I have updated, uninstalled and re-installed, but to no avail. Any ideas?

What SP for Vista you have? If you have SP1 please upgrade to SP2 and the issue would be resolved.

When i click on the "Turn on" button in WSC it gives me the admin allow pop-up and I click OK and then nothing happens. Also I have already tried the driver update that you linked to in your next post. Thank you.
