    Hi there,

we have Symantec Antivirus 10.1.4.4000 (I don't see it listed in the drop down list below) running on MS SBS Server 2003.  It says that the virus definitions are version 2/15/2013 and when I run live update it always says this is the latest definition file.  That couldn't be the case could it?

    Hi oliverdsym,

"Thumbs up" to the above.  No customer should continue to use SAV 10 at this point.  I recommend that only SEP 12.1 with correct configuration should be used against today’s threats.

SAV was a fine product when that SBS server was released, 10 years ago. Threats have evolved since then. Continuing to rely upon an unsupported product like that for defense of your server is very dangerous.

    Hi folks,

thanks for your replies.  I haven't renewed Symantec in years, can you send me a link to renew please?  I would also suggest that Symantec make it more intuitive for customers to 1. realise that their version needs to be updated and 2. to allow them to renew with one or two clicks rather than having to read through pages of information

    Many Thanks

    Oliver

I'm afraid I'm not having much luck here at all, Symantec is making it extremely difficult for me to purchase their product, how many other customers will have lost interest and went elsewhere?  I went to http://buy.symantec.com/estore/clp/home , selected Ireland from the drop down list, put in my credit card details, VAT number etc, clicked next, reviewed my purchase and when I clicked the button to confirm purchase I got this message below:-

    "Sorry

Your billing address is not supported from this site. Please navigate to the site for your country to complete your purchase."

I will now try http://www.symantec.com/en/uk/global/licensing/, if this doesn't work I think I'll be trying a different product instead, sorry:(

The quickest way here may be to send an email to licensing@symantec.com

If you're in a pinch, send me a PM and I can get you additional help.

    Thanks,
    Brian

    Hi Brian,

I had not luck with http://www.symantec.com/en/uk/global/licensing/ so I tried Sales Chat support and they told me that I have to buy through a partner so as you can imagine I am very frustrated with the whole experience.  To make matters worse I had about a half an A4 page typed here to describe the problems I had and when I went to copy a link on one of the posts above I clicked on it by mistake so it brought me to that link but when I clicked on the back button all my text was gone:(

If you think I can buy without going through a partner let me know and I will be happy to PM you
