I Got a separate server with anti-virus install (Symantec antivirus) program version 10.1.5.5000

and Symantec system centre install to manage the client update 

with my present scenario I have to update manually antivirus definition on server than on client trough Symantec system centre manually.

I want that the definition get update automatically to the server machine and then to the client without and manual interference

SAV 10 are EOSL you can upgrade SEPM 12.

Better solution is that you can upgrade you SEP Server with latest because your current version is too old and is of EOL.

Just a reminder to anyone still using SAV: please do upgrade to SEP as soon as possible.  That product is no longer supported.  New definitions have been released for SAV 10.x long after support ended, in order to allow admins ample time to migrate.  These are just a courtesy and can be discontinued at any time.

Symantec Corporate was the last of the Mohiccans to offer "Lifetime free antivirus updates included"  Symantec should honor their commitment, or give everyone a free replacement for a more current version (that may expire). But the deal was in 2005 "LIFETIME FREE DEFINITION UPDATES"  Most reading this are too young to remember and those of us old enough to remember, most probably can't.  It's not the sysamdin's money anyhow, but I am telling you the reason we have hung on to this product was because it was issued with LIFETIME... thats the lifetime of me, or my computer.  We plan to keep XP and server 2003 until it dry-rots, so please anti-up with the definition updates or the next call will be to a class action attorney in califorina.  Do like the Orlando lawyers Morgan and Morgan say "  Do the right thing or I'm calling Morgan and Morgan"
