After trying unsuccessfully for a couple of weekends, I managed to create a new Windows 7 virtual machine using BESR 2010 on the same physical Windows 7 Ultimate machine.

I'm using VMWARE Workstation 7.

The recovery ran OK but when I start the virtual machine I get an error telling me:

Sysprep cannot run on a computer that has been upgraded to a new version of windows.  You can only run sysprep on a custom (clean) install of windows.

(One more reason not to upgrade, but tht's another story)

Once you go beyond the error the new virtual machine starts and seems to run withouit problems.

My question is "How can I keep Sysprep from trying to run everytime I start this virtual machine"?

What can I do to elimate this nagging issue?
