In the past couple weeks, we've had hundreds of calls from customers saying their Symantec is blocking our website saying it's a malcious site. We have scanned our site inside and out and found nothing. This problem is only happening with people that have a Symantec product. This is a VERY serious problem for us. I've called Symantec several times and no one seems to be able to help with this. They put you on hold, transfer you around a bunch of times, and of course, the lack of English skills are a problem. I've filled out the false positive form Symantec has online a couple times. I never heard back from anyone. There has to be a way to get this resolved. Symantec is the ONLY one giving us this false positive.

Has anyone else had this problem?  Does anyone know how to get this fixed with Symantec?

    Thanks!

Do you have a tracking number for the false possitive submission?

You may need to escalate this or Chethan who is active on this community can get things up the ladder.

    What's the URL?

Also, assuming we're talking SEP, it won't block access but I assume folks are trying to download something from it?

    Our site is pittcon.org

It's not from downloading anything, they're just visiting the site, or trying to log-in to register for our conference.

From what everyone that calls has been saying, when they go to the site, they get a security error on their browser screen. They can't even see our site. Only Chrome users seem to be able to click "advanced" then show the site anyway. IE and Firefox users can't get past the security warning.

I'm browsing the site now without issue. There is no warning of any kind with FF or IE The site is also rated safe by Symantec.

Would need to see some logs from SEP.

    Hi Shelley,

The site has an "OK/Safe" rating:

    https://safeweb.norton.com/report/show?url=pittcon.org

Please provide more information on which specific product is blocking it, any with which component or technology?

    Many thanks,

    Mick

Thank you everyone for helping. We also have SEP in our office and can't get this warning to come up either. The next person that calls in complaining of this I will ask if they can send me a log, screen shot of what they are seeing, and exactly what Symantec product they are using.

SEP doesn't block websites unless you use the firewall or IPS to do it.

It could've been a Norton product but even so they rate your site as Safe.
