SEP Knowledge Base
Endpoint SWAT
open services.msc
disabe symantec managment client service
frm the task manager; kill all the instance of smc.exe
resart the symantec manager service; and put it to automatic
Run Windows Installer CleanUp Utility to remove SEP. (http://support.microsoft.com/kb/932857)
To happen on one PC, it is okay. But to have it on 50 PCs, seems there's a conflict with other application/service. I would suggest to debug SMC.EXE and send it to Symantec Support.
Dear all,
I solved the issue, as bellow:
Remove the Symantec Client using the installation package that I did download from Symantec Website.
Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1_RU1_Win32-bit_Client_EN
Restart the Desktop.
Reinstall the SEP client using the same package that I did download from Symantec Website, and install unmanaged type (single instalation).
Symantec_Endpoint_Protection_12.1_RU1_Win32-bit_Client_EN
After finish the instalation, stop the smc services.
smc -stop
Export the Sylink from SEP Manager, and import to SEP Client.
Start the Services smc or restart the computer.
smc -start
Check in the SEP Client in troubleshooting if the General Information show the SEP manager server.
Best Regards
Grande Bart.
