  • 1.  Symantec DLP 11 not blocking when using the Save As

    My concern is that Symantec DLP 11 not blocking when using i use Save as in a Map-drive or Shared Drive.

    The scenario:

    I installed the agent on pc1 and made a  policy to block these certain files (PDFand dwg), when dragging or using copy and paste to the shared or map drive DLP works fine, but when i open these files and do the "save as" it allow to copied into map or shared folder.

    Can someone send me some info?

    Officially, Save As is not supported in v11. Only an Exporer copy/move works for network shares.

    will Symantec DLP have an option to support it or have a consideration to prevent it?

    actually although save as is not covered you can still see the incident on the console because the agent detected a file that has the same content that triggers the policy.

    administrators /customers can then be alerted by using a notification email when this is happening.

    hope this will give you some help
