Hi,

Can any one explain brife about below query :

1. What is Solution Pack in Symantec DLP ?

2, For what reason we need to export solution pack after installation on Symantec DLP ?

3. If we wont export Solution Pack what will happen ?

4. In McAfee DLP there is no such type of solution pack to export or import everythin is inbuilt or default, why this question... Customer frequently asks these types of questions.

5. Why Symantec DLP is integrated with Oracle DB instead of SQL DB?

6. When i try to search for Symantec & McAfee DLP Comparison chart in google, i can see only McAfee will be topper than Symantec.

Please make it sorry for the above queries... When i try to position Symantec DLP to the customer these many queries im unable to answerable, so asked.

Please do reply back with proper resolution... cause i have to explain the same to Customer.

 - Symantec DLP solution pack are free addons which contains some DLP policies template and some configuration objects (roles, response rules, statuses,...) for some specific business. As it is predefined object with internal ID hard coded, you could import one solution pack only before doing any specific configuration. They are not mandatory so everything works fine if you dont import any solution pack. Good point to have separate solution pack per business activity is that it avoid deleting unwanted policies.

- From my point of view they are not inbuild for historical reason. From client point of view, it is transparent as it will be import once during installation.

- Symantec DLP is available on Windows and Linux, so it is more coherent to integrated it with a database available on both system too (this is my point of view and not an official one).

- From my point of view, there is no magic DLP product and none of them is really far better than the other one. Try to define what you wanna do then select correct product with respect to expected needs (leakage vector, kind of information, company size, price, people available to do/help you in these tasks,....

 Regards
