Symantec Encryption Desktop - Managing Email Encryption at the Client

    Hello,

I have a customer who is licensed to be able to manage email encryption. However, at this point they are only interested in whole disk encryptiong and file encryption which can be easily managed by the Symantec Encryption Management server.

What I would like to do is allow individual users to manage email encryption just like you would if you had and unmanaged Symantec Encryption Desktop client.

What settings would I have to enable in the consumer policy to be able to have the users be able to manage their own email encryption?

    Cheers,

    Cameron

    HI Cameron,

In the PGP Desktop on the client. Go to PGP Messenging, and there should be a box you can check above the policy that should say use local client policy.

This will make the PGP client look at the mail policy which the user defines on the local machine.  There are already default policies that you can use.

Any mail policy that you have setup on the server will be bypassed.

    Thanks
