File Share Encryption

I'm trying to activate a trial version of Symantec Encryption Management Server.  I'm using the key I recieved for "Symantec Encryption Desktop Corporate Trial Download," but no matter what I do I always get this message:

The license information could not be authorized.

What am I missing here?

Symantec Encryption Management Server and Symantec Encryption Desktop are the same product line, but the licensing is different for the server and the clients.  The Desktop license will not work for the Server.

I'm in the same position.  Downloading a trial of Management Server gives you access to the software for both that and Desktop Encryption, plus all the install guides and documentation for both, but we have only been sent a license for the desktop encryption.

The Symantec_Encryption_File_Share_Eval_Guide.pdf states to install the management server first before installing and licensing Desktop Encryption.  I'm not 100% sure I need the Management Server to test our requirements, but I'm currently struggling to share keys with other users from Desktop Encryption so I presume I might.

I was having the same issue, for some reason it would send me the Symantec Encryption Desktop Corporate trial code. I had to go to https://buy.symantec.com/estore/clp/freetrials and select "Free Trial" directly under the "Symantec File Share Encryption (powered by PGP technology)" Link. After I downloaded, it sent me a Symantec Endpoint Encryption activation code which worked with the Encryption Server Setup.
