  • 1.  Symantec Encryption Management Server on VMWare vSphere 6

    Posted Jul 31, 2015 06:47 AM

SEMS is yet to be certified for use on VMWare 6, but we're looking to attempt it as we need to migrate SEMS from the physical server we currently use it on. Has anyone here attempted this yet, and did you find any issues?

We use SEMS to provide the webmail system for external users so they can send and receive encrypted email to our Exchange server. We don't use it to encrypt email sent over the Internet and we don't use it for drive encryption.

    Thanks!

    Hi Judgecal,

Please check the below article for VMware Supported Versions - Symantec Encryption Management Server

    https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH149547.html

The certified hardware/appliance are tested under different testing procedures and in case there are some issue the support and engineering have the documentation to work and resolve it. SEMS could work fine on VMWare 6, however as stated it is not tested and certified and hence false under “not-supported” category.

Thanks, I'd still like to know the experiences of anyone that has attempted this on VMWare 6 though.
