    Hello All,

We are currently using  Symantec Desktop Encrpytion on our windows machines and using Symantec Encryption Server to administer them. We also have macs in our enviorment using Filevault, I am curious if we could use the server to monitor if not manage the Macs that are file vaulted?

    Thank you,

    Hi Dev1984,

You can install Symantec Encryption Desktop on MAC and encrypt the drive, which will report to the server and can be managed from there, below is the article for the supported SED versions for corresponding MAC version:

     https://support.symantec.com/en_US/article.TECH174563.html

About managing/monitoring MAC encrypted with File Vault with Symantec Server that can be done with Symantec Endpoint Encryption, another encryption solution from Symantec, which is also covered under the same license key.

This adds management of FileVault2, the native encryption solution from Apple. Management of FileVault2 includes two major components: client and server. The client is installed on a managed Mac OS X system, and the server is part of the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Management Server. Key recovery and reporting will be supported through the Symantec Endpoint Encryption Management Server.
