I did a stand alone intsall on XP computer (SP3),as soon as the install ends it pops a error that install failed with a header <ISP> Solution. Right after that it goes for update and the client loads fine...But after a restart of the computer it pops up the same message "corrupt installtion..<ISP> Solution...and eventually it loads and works fine..

I have uninstalled, repaired and re-installed but the nag is still there...Please help with some ideas....Regards

can you post a screen shot of the pop up?

Do u get a pop up like the one mentioned here

Error: "LU1825: This update was corrupted so LiveUpdate was unable to process it. . ." when attempting to run LiveUpdate in a Norton product downloaded from an ISP

    http://service1.symantec.com/SUPPORT/sos.nsf/docid/2007121714171967

seems like you have nortan installed earlier and still it got some leftouts. Run NONAV reboot the box, run sep installation should work fine.

    Download it from here

    ftp://ftp.symantec.com/public/english_us_canada/removal_tools/

Thanks Rafeeq> I don't have the screen shot. I will try what you suggested tomorrow at many  client's office and see what happens...as well I will take a screen shot at that time. One thing I forgot to mention that his outlook 2003 also stopped working. When you click send/recieve it just spools and spools never gets the messages in? any ideas??

Should be because of this corrupted install, email protection of symantec endpoint might be causing the issue.
I would want you to remove sep,
    download no nav
    run no nav
    reboot
    install sep
    things should be fine.

We saw this error come up on some machines just after a SEP install as well, but it was related to HP credential manager software - Even though there are no logs to show it. Do you have any HP software installed on the machine?

    open task manager
    click on appications.
right click on application pop up, select go to process, let me know the process name.

    also
go to start - run - msconfig
    click on servcies.

"I ran the NONAV tool and re-installed SEP 11"
nonav is a tool for removing symantec antivirs 9.x and earlier.
cleanwipe is the tool for removing SEP
you can get this from symantec support

    type msconfig
    click on services
    check hide all microsoft servies
    uncheck all symantec services
do u see any other services which can relate to ISP , post a screen shot.
    uncheck all symantec services
    go to add/ remove programs
    repair symantec endpoint
reboot  and check if the issue persists.
