This issue has been solved. See solution.

I'm having trouble running a full scan in Symantec Endpoint.  The problem I'm having is that when I start a full scan, the scan runs for more than 20 minutes, but I get a message indicating that the operating system stopped the program.

The os is vista home premimum service pack 1.

I have previously downloaded the removal tool to completly remove endpoint and did a reinstall.

Here is the operating system error message

 Title bar: Microsoft Windows

Text: Syantec AntiVirus stopped working and was closed.  A problem caused the application to stop working correctly.  Windows will notify you if a solution is available.

Buttons: Close

 Any suggestions / guidance?

 thank you.

John

Attached is output from mbam

I ran Sophos Anti Rootkit but I don't see a log file

Scan Vista 64 Bit

Have you checked the power option settings for this Vista machine?. May be we can then try narrowing dowwn to the root cause.

You can try to patch it to the latest version by running the following exe
