Endpoint Protection

We have deployed Symantec Endpoint Ver 11.05 on our network and it normally takes around 450 MB. On a particular machine it is taking around 924 MB. Reinstall did not help. OS is windows XP SP3 . Kindly suggest possible causes.

When we check the space used by the program from ADD/Remove optiions in control Panel

The install is corrupt , uninstall SEP

Delete following folders if present
C:\Program Files\Symantec
C:\Program Files\Symantec AntiVirus
C:\Program Files\Common Files\Symantec Shared
C:\Documents and Settings\All Users\Application Data\Symantec


Reboot the machine and intsall it again

How to clear out corrupted definitions for a Symantec Endpoint Protection Client

If this client is a managed client try creating a new package from the SEPM and push it. In case its an Unmanaged client then uninstall SEP and reinstall it. The space issue should be taken care of.

I tried as suggested but after reinstall size is still showing 924 MB

Then please do a manual removal of SEP and then try to reinstall SEP

There is a tool named cleanwipe is available for this.You have to open a call with symatec for getting this tool.

The problem is solved after using cleanwipe tool . Thanks
