Symantec Endpoint Management Domain Change
Dear Team
My SEP Management console is installed in a server which is a member of a domain controller. The client are connecting the server with IP address. Now we have build a new domain controller and all the nodes are connected to the server via IP address. Now i want to disjoin the Management Server from my previous domain and make it a part of my new domain. I will not change the IP address or the name of the server.
I just want to know if I disjoint the Management Server from my previous domain and placed it as a member of my new domain will there be any problem in client communication. I have serveral branches and will like to monitor and manage it from HO. Solution and Suggestion will be highly appreciated.
Thanks & Regards
Avijit Chakraborty.

hi
If you are not installing new sepm.
clients will communicate using the same IP and Port. They just need to be open.

Hi,
Change in Domain but not a change in the SEPM hostname or the SEPM IP address. Should not be an issue.
However for safer side follow disaster recovery prior to making changes.

It will work without any problem, the client communication do not depend on domain name, it just needs the name or ip address of the server and the port number. As long as these three things are not changing on the server there will not be any issue in client server communication.
And as Chetan said, its always better to be on safer side and take backup of the server before making any changes
