i really think there is a mager improvement on SEP V11 VS Symantec antivirus V10!!!

1 SEP V11 OR Symantec Endpoint Portection is much faster in loading definations and scanning files.

2 SEP V11 takes a hell lot less memory usage than Symantec Antivirus v10 thats hands down on that!!!!!!! A+

what do you think about the new SEPV11 VS Symantec Antivirus V10?!

SAV is a kiddo version of SEP.
SEP takes over all the advantages of SEP and then add few more good features. 

Sadly, they both suck at detecting viruses :)

i disagree with that bjohn. Symantec (SAV or SEP) have been a market leader in the VB100 awards and have the most consecutive vb100 awards (35 last time i checked). Gartner magic quadrant leader for 4 years now. It's not the end all be all to prevent 100% of all risks. But in my opinion, it does it better than anything else.

for what it's worth, I posted with a smiley, so you can take my comment with a grain of salt.

I will say that based upon the numerous posts here about bad detection rates, my comment is not too far off. Just because something ends up in Gartner's magic quadrant doesn't make it a great product. It all depends on how much Gartner got paid :)

@Shaun, bjohn: I bet every AV user whether it is Symantec or other company's have their own set of malwares they allow through and a set of programs that are false positives.

Its just a question of how reliable an AV appln could be designed!! I have used Three different AV on my network(Not to name any), but its been EP which gives me a lot of managerical options with a good interface(designed in Java)... I accept there are various bugs but still no other provider has given so much an option on there product and that to for a huge network..!!! The product is good and especially EP and I wud rate it 8/10....

My absolute favorite thing that has change from SAV to SEP is the application and device control. There is so much power behind these programs that allow admins to control policies on their clients. This can even go beyond simple virus prevention. Heck you could even stop your employees from playing solitaire if you really wanted : ) It just allows for so much control. I love it.

When SEPM MR4 MP2 arrived.. it made he comparison a landslide..

SEP is way better. The GUI is a lot easier to navigate through - more intuitive. Less need for the right-click. Addition of application and device control means you can now manage them with only one software when you either used 2 or just have no control over it.
