Hi,

How many machines are currently with the old version i.e. SEP 11.0.780.***

Better if you can go for fresh installation.

Do remeber the latest version is SEP 11.0 MR4MP1a

you can upgrade directly to

you can upgrade directly to MR4, if you want MR4MP1 then you need MR4 first then MP1a.
however as sam said it would be better to do clean install if you can do that.

MP1a is out. Mp2 is out

MP1a is out. Mp2 is out early next month. Fresh installs are always better compared to upgrades

Remove 11.0.780 first

Remove 11.0.780 first. If you even leave one computer on 11.0.780 it will be problematic.
So i would suggest you to first completely remove this version then install the latest version Mr4Mp1a.

Improvisation

To save you the pain, If you plan to start afresh, Use this method to deploy:

1) Admin > Install Packages > Settings

2) Create a new setting which has the option of "Remove all previous logs, policies and reset the client server communication"

3) Use this setting while exporting the package.

4) Push with clientremote.exe or migration and deployment wizard

4) This will uninstall the existing clients, Reinstall them with the new configuration set.

De facto when AV does something, it starts jumping up and down, waving its arms, and shouting "Hey!  I found a virus!  Look at me!  I'm soooo goooood!"
