I have several machines running Windows XP 32 bit.

Once Sep12 was installed the machines started to blue screen 0x07b.

Typically this blue screen is XP having difficulties with AHCI, switch to IDE and Windows XP runs. However Windows XP ran without any issues using AHCI until Sep 12 was installed.

    Any ideas?????

enable the full dump and once you get the BSOD pass on the dump to the Symantec support after opening a ticket.

If you install only AV, does it still happen?

    Hi,

I think you are having a problem of Boot sector viruses.

    Please check below links:

How to collect Master Boot Record for submission to Symantec Security Response

    http://www.symantec.com/business/support/index?page=content&id=TECH93277

    Boot-Sector Viruses

You may receive a "Stop 0x0000007B" error message if your computer is infected with a boot-sector virus. If the problem is intermittent and you can start Windows, check your computer for viruses. If you find a virus, also check any floppy disks for viruses before you use them again.

    Reimage does the same...

As for previous AVs, there were no symptoms with Sep 11 or any other scanners...  I already changed these two machines back to IDE, XP found the new drivers and I put them back on the floors (Hospital computers) So if I get another, I will post any dump files I can get.
