Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Component Licensing
Created: 20 Sep 2012 | 4 comments
I need to know if all the components that are part of Symantec Endpoint Protection are included in the main license, or are they licensed separately by component? Specifically: AntiVirus/AntiSpyware, Proactive Threat Protection, Network Threat Protection, and Network Access Control.
I also need to know if there is a license cost for the Gateway Enforcer Appliance that works in conjunction with Network Access Control.
Thank you!

HI,
Network Access Control-is not a part of SEPM license
You need separately License for Network Access Control.
If you want to license cost for the Gateway Enforcer Appliance contact symantec sales or symantec partner.
Thanks In Advance

Hi,
I need to know if all the components that are part of Symantec Endpoint Protection are included in the main license, or are they licensed separately by component? Specifically: AntiVirus/AntiSpyware, Proactive Threat Protection, Network Threat Protection, and Network Access Control.
--> AntiVirus/AntiSpyware, Practive Threat Protection, Network Threat Protection --> All are the part of same license
Network Access Control (SNAC) --> It's additional license, not a part of default SEP license.
I also need to know if there is a license cost for the Gateway Enforcer Appliance that works in conjunction with Network Access Control.
--> Correct, Gateway Enforcer Appliance has a different Product License.

Hello,
Question: I need to know if all the components that are part of Symantec Endpoint Protection are included in the main license, or are they licensed separately by component? Specifically: AntiVirus/AntiSpyware, Proactive Threat Protection, Network Threat Protection, and Network Access Control.
Answer: When you purchase the License of Symantec Endpoint Protection 11.x / 12.1 it includes the License for AntiVirus/AntiSpyware, Proactive Threat Protection, Network Threat Protection. However, for Network Access Control you would have to purchase License Seperately.
However in certain cases, when you purchase Symantec Security Suites like Symantec Protection Suite Enterprise Edition for Endpoints 4.0, which includes License for all the above products.

Question: I also need to know if there is a license cost for the Gateway Enforcer Appliance that works in conjunction with Network Access Control.
Answer: Yes, Gateway Enforcer Appliance has a different Product License.
The Gateway Enforcer is still available. It has the option of hosting a small web site that a remote client is redirected to when there is no Symantec Endpoint Protection (SEP) found on the endpoint machine. Once a client is redirected to this site, then a Java based Host Integrity Client is offered for install.
The Java based client (also called an "On-Demand Client") can perform the same Host Integrity checks at the full blown SEP client, and it will recognize most currrent AV/Firewall/Security products, and check their status.
