  • 1.  Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 Enterprise Install Issues

    Posted Sep 27, 2012 01:00 PM

Ive come across a couple of computers ( both Lenovo's but different models) that are unable to install Symantec Antivirus Endpoint Protection 12.1 .  The installer says its waiting to install, hangs, and then closes out.  No error message is given.  If I try to install again, I am agiven a message that the installer cant run becuase changes have been made to the computer that require a reboot.  Ive disabled all serveres that run on the machine, removed it from the domain, tried running as different users, and still get the same result every time.

    Any ideas?

Here is what I got from the log ( top entries after searching for Return Value 3 ):

Run the Cleanwipe tool on these machines to fully remove SEP. See this thread on getting cleanwipe:

Cleanwipe is a removal tool to remove SEP completely from the system when normal methods to do so fail.
