Symantec Endpoint Protection 12.1 has a new and safer mechanism to reset passwords. To reset the password, click the "Forgot your password?" link on the Manager logon screen. The old method for removing passwords has been removed.

Hi,
To verify the Email Address (admin Mail Reciptants):
1.Open Windows Explorer on the computer that runs Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager.
2.Locate the <Drive>:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\etc folder.
3.Double-click the sepm_settings.properties file and open with notepad:
admin Email Address is here:
adminMailReciptants=......
Are you accessing SEPM using SEPM authentication or AD authentication?.
If SEPM authentication you can excute resetpass.bat
Windows 2003 :
Located under Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools\
Windows 2008:
Located under Program Files (x86) \Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\Tools\
Enter User name and password as admin.
You will get prompt to change password.
Note:
Try to excute the resetpass.bat through command prompt as adminstrator if it not works in normal excution.

Please mark thread as solved if you consider this to have answered your question(s).
That isn't available in 12.1 as the poster already mentioned. I have the same problem as nobody knows what email address was used.
That line doesn't exist in the sepm_settings.properties file. I have tried adding it and restarting the SEPM and clicking on the "forgot my password" link and the admin email still goes to a different address.
In 12.1 you will find the email address here (Windows 2003)
C:\Program Files\Symantec\Symantec Endpoint Protection Manager\tomcat\etc in the mailConfig.properties file

The ResetPassword.bat has been removed in 12.1, but should still work.
This is the tool from v11 - copy it to the Tools folder as described above.

ResetPass.bat was actually removed as of 12.1 RU1 MP1, not 12.1 RTM. I would recommend removing the attachment on your post. Using the older tool can have unexpected results.
The original poster advised back in July 2012 that they uninstalled and reinstalled the SEPM -- they just never marked the thread as resolved.

At a new customer with 12.1.2 already installed and they have no idea what the password is. E-mail apparantly was never setup. How does one reset it if e-mail doesn't work either?

Manish,
That's for v11. That's no longer supported in 12.1.2 and has been clearly detailed in this thread that it's not supported. I need to know how to fix 12.1.2 if no e-mail was ever defined.
You need to create support ticket
